Bookings

How early do I need to book the space?

Bookings should be made as early as possible to guarantee the availability of the space.

Can I make a booking over the phone?

You can confirm the availability of a date over the phone or on WhatsApp at +351 965 265 075. However, the booking can only be done by email (info@ownstudio.pt) or using the bookings form on his website.

Can I visit the studio before making a booking?

Of course! You’re more than welcome to check out the space. Just contact us and we will be happy to show you around on a date that works for you. You can also check our floorplan and studio photos on this website.

Is there a minimum number of hours to rent the studio?

Yes, you need to book the studio for at least two hours.

What do I need to book the studio?

To guarantee your booking, after receiving your confirmation email you’ll need to make a pre-payment of 50% of the total value. The remaining 50% will be paid on the day of the booking.

When is my booking confirmed?

Your booking will only be confirmed once we have received your pre-payment and after you’ve received an email confirming your booking. All reservations are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I make more than one booking on the same day?

Of course! Just use the booking form as many times as needed.

Can I extend my session for longer than the booked time?

As long as there are no other bookings after yours there won’t be a problem in extending your own booked session as long as you pay for the extra time. We only ask that you confirm with us before.

Can I arrive early to set up?

The booked hours include setup time, disassembling and cleaning. Because we might have back-to-back booked sessions it is imperative that you use only the time that you booked.

I’ve booked more hours than needed. Can I get a refund for the time I didn’t use?

Because we have reserved the space for you for the requested amount of time unfortunately we cannot refund you for the time you booked and did not use.

In case I need to postpone the booking to another date, what do I need to do?

If you need to postpone your booking please send us an email to info@ownstudio.pt informing us of the new date you want to book the studio so we can check availability and process the rebooking.

How can I cancel a confirmed booking?

If you need to cancel please email us at info@ownstudio.pt. If you cancel 7 days or more before the session date you will only be charged 50% of the total value. If you cancel 6 days or less before the session you will need to pay the full amount.

What if my client cancels the session after I have paid for the booking?

To avoid situations like these we recommend photographers receive from their clients a non-refundable commission that corresponds to the pre-paid value of the studio booking.


Studio

What is the area of the studio?

You can check the floorplan here.

Does the studio have natural light?

Yes, we have windows along one side of the studio, right in front of the cyclorama. All windows are facing west and for that reason, we have a lot of natural light, especially in the afternoon.

Does the studio have wifi?

Yes, the studio has free wifi, fast and reliable, included in the booking.

Do you have a make-up station or room?

There is a small area in the corner of the studio with a table and a mirror that can be used as a make-up station. There is also a dressing room and a WC.

Is there a WC?

Yes, we have a unisex WC.

Do you have a dressing room?

Yes, we have a small dressing room of about 6m2, with clothing racks and hangers.

Is eating and drinking allowed in the studio?

Yes, the studio has a fridge, mugs, coffee machine, etc. However, please be mindful of where you eat and drink so as to not make any damage.

Can I bring my pets?

No, pets are not allowed in the studio. Except for guide dogs accompanying a visually impaired person.

Do you have a car park?

We do not own car parking spaces but there’s plenty of free parking in front and around the studio.

What are your opening hours?

The studio is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 8 pm. You will always need to book prior to using the space. We are also open at weekends or after hours but you will need to request for this specifically in your booking.

Does the studio close for lunch?

No. We are open between 9 am and 8 pm.

Is there anything I need to do once my time is up?

Please make sure the studio is clean and tidy once you finish your session. The studio must be left the same way you found it or we will charge you a 50€ cleaning fee.


Equipment

What do I need to bring?

Bring only your camera and whatever lenses you might need. All lighting equipment, light modifiers, stands, etc., will be provided with the booking.

What equipment is included?

Does the studio provide backdrops?

Yes, there are 8 different backdrops, you can check here.

Can I bring my own backdrop?

Yes, you can. Our equipment is for backdrops up to 3m wide.

What is the lighting equipment like?

We have two types of lighting, LED and Flash. Flash heads have continuous light but are not suitable for making videos, only for photography.

Does the studio have sound equipment?

Yes, we have a Marshall StanMore Speaker that works with Bluetooth or AUX cable.

Does the studio have a smoke machine?

No, we do not have one at the moment.

Does the studio have air-con?

Yes, we do.

Does the studio have video surveillance?

Yes, we do.

Does the studio have chairs, tables and stools I can use?

Yes, we do.

Does it have a clothing rack?

Yes, we do, with hangers.

What is your policy in case of damage or dirt on the cyclorama?

Stepping or leaning on the curved area and back wall of the Cyclorama is completely prohibited. In case of negligence, if any damage is verified, a fee of €1000 + VAT is charged. In case of damage to the paper background, a fee of €10 + VAT will be charged per meter.

What happens if we inadvertently damage the studio or equipment?

If any damage occurs in the studio during the rental, whether accidental or due to negligence, the corresponding payment should be made at the time by the responsible person for the rental. In the case, for example, of the fall of a flash, a fee of €500 + VAT per Flash/Led will be charged.


Services

I have no experience photographing in a studio. Can you help with the lighting?

Yes, we can always help when needed. However, we always ask that you consult our availability before making your booking.

Can I do hair and makeup services on-site?

Yes, hair and makeup services are allowed as long as they are done within the studio's reservation period, so we recommend allowing extra time if necessary.

Can I also rent the studio for filming?

Of course! We would be happy to help.

If I need a photographer, do you provide this service?

Yes, we offer product photography, lookbooks, and other services. You can check our website at www.packshot.pt to learn more about our services.


Payments

What are the available payment methods?

You can pay with cash, MBWAY (a popular mobile payment app in Portugal), or through a bank transfer.

What are the payment conditions?

You will need to pay 50% upon booking to ensure availability and the remaining 50% on the day itself.

Is VAT included?

The prices shown on the website do not include VAT. 23% will be added to the total value during your booking.
